BREAKING: Darius Thompson (Western Kentucky) to participate in the 2018 Professional Basketball Combine presented by HFactor. Thompson began his career at the University of Tennessee, where he spent one year before transferring to Virginia, sitting out the 2014-2015 season. Thompson would spend 2 years at Virginia before using his last year of eligibility at Western Kentucky. In a January match-up against Marshall, Thompson dropped a 33-point (Career High), 10-rebound, 10-assist triple-double, leading the Hilltoppers to a 35 point beat down of the Herd. It was only the second triple-double in the history of WKU basketball. Against North Texas, Thompson went for 28 points and got to the free throw line an impressive 19 times. He followed up that performance with an 18-point, 10-assist double-double against Rice. In the Conference USA tournament championship Thompson averaged 12.3 PPG, 5.3 APG, and 3.0 RPG leading WKU to 2 wins in the tournament, Thompson was named to the All-Tournament team as a result. Thompson and the Hilltoppers were invited to the NIT where he averaged 10 PPG, 4.8 APG, and 2.8 RPG, leading WKU to the semi-final. After the season Thompson was named to the All-C-USA Second team.
