BREAKING: Kaiser Gates (Xavier) to participate in the 2018 Professional Basketball Combine presented by HFactor. The Junior averaged 7.2 PPG and was the second leading rebounder for the Musketeers with 4.6 per game. Gates shot a career high 37.8% from 3-point range on 4.2 attempts per game this past season. He has made consistent strides as a free throw shooter throughout his Xavier career, as a Freshman he converted at a 56.8% clip, then improved to 72.2% and 82.7% as a Sophomore and Junior respectively. During the 2017-2018 season Gates scored a career-high 19 points against Baylor, going 5-9 from 3-point range. The 6’8” forward followed up his career night by bringing in his first career double-double against Cincinnati, where he finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. In the Musketeers win against St. John’s in the Big East Conference tournament, Gates contributed 16 points on an efficient 6-7 shooting from the field, including 4-5 from 3-point range.
