We sat down with Jonah Kelfer, Publicity Assistant at Viewpoint, Inc to discuss all things life and PBC. Jonah was the Marketing Coordinator at the PBC last year. He is a recent graduate from the University of Southern California where he completed a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and an Advertising minor.

BREAKING: Kerwin Roach II (Texas) will participate in the 2019 Professional Basketball Combine. In four seasons at Texas, Roach averaged 11.0 PPG, 3.7 RPG, and 2.9 APG. As a freshman, Roach averaged 7.5 PPG, 2.9 RPG, and 1.2 APG. He was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team. He also earned ESPN “Dunk of the Year” for 2015. As a sophomore, Roach averaged 9.9 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 3.7 APG. He once again led the team in steals and tied for the team lead in assists. As a junior, Roach averaged 12.3 PPG, 3.7 RPG, and 3.6 APG. He was an Honorable Mention All-Big 12 selection and he led the team in steals, ranked second on the team in assists, third on the team in scoring, and fourth on the team in rebounds. As a senior, Roach averaged 15.1 PPG, 4.4 RPG, and 3.3 APG. He was named the NIT Most Valuable Player. BREAKING: Quentin Goodin (Xavier) will participate in the 2019 Professional Basketball Combine. In three seasons at Xavier, Goodin averaged 8.1 PPG, 2.7 RPG, and 4.3 APG. As a freshman, Goodin averaged 5.1 PPG, 2.0 RPG, and 3.4 APG. He took over the starting point guard role over the final 17 games of the season. As a sophomore, Goodin averaged 8.7 PPG, 2.9 RPG, and 4.9 APG. He ranked third in the Big East in assists per game. He also recorded 17 double-digit scoring games. As a junior, Goodin averaged 11.0 PPG, 3.2 RPG, and 4.8 APG and led the team in assists. He is only the third player in school history to reach 100 assists in his freshman, sophomore, and junior year. Goodin is currently ranked eighth on Xavier’s all-time career assists chart. BREAKING: Xavier Sneed (Kansas State) to Participate in 2019 Professional Basketball Combine5/14/2019 BREAKING: Xavier Sneed (Kansas State) will participate in the 2019 Professional Basketball Combine. In three seasons at Kansas State, Sneed averaged 9.6 PPG, 4.4 RPG, and 1.4 APG. As a freshman, Sneed averaged 7.1 PPG, 2.6 RPG, and 0.6 APG. He posted school Top 10 freshman marks in 4 categories, including games played (35), 3-point field goals (38), steals (33) and free throw percentage (72.6%). As a sophomore, Sneed averaged 11.1 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 1.8 APG. He was one of three players to start in all 37 games. He led the team in three point field goals made, was second in steals and rebounds per game, and third in points per game. As a junior, Sneed averaged 10.6 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 1.9 APG. He ranked second on the team in rebounds per game, steals per game, and three point field goals made. We are excited to welcome Xavier Sneed to the 2019 PBC and look forward to seeing him compete!
BREAKING: Dontay Caruthers (Buffalo) to Participate in 2019 Professional Basketball Combine5/13/2019 BREAKING: Dontay Caruthers (Buffalo) will participate in the 2019 Professional Basketball Combine. Caruthers played his freshman year at Midland CC before transferring to Buffalo to finish out his college career. In three seasons at Buffalo, Caruthers averaged 6.9 PPG, 2.7 RPG, and 2.4 APG. As a redshirt sophomore, Caruthers averaged 5.1 PPG, 2.2 RPG, 2.2 APG, and 1.9 SPG. He was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year and to the MAC All-Defensive Team. He also led the team and was fourth in the MAC in steals. As a redshirt junior, Caruthers averaged 6.7 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 2.0 APG, and 0.9 SPG. Caruthers started the season strong and slowed down a bit after missing 11 games due to a leg injury. As a redshirt senior, Caruthers averaged 8.6 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 2.8 APG, and 1.4 SPG. He was once again named MAC Defensive Player of the Year and to the MAC All-Defensive Team. We are excited to welcome Dontay Caruthers to the 2019 PBC and look forward to seeing him compete!
BREAKING: Justin Simon (St. John's) to Participate in 2019 Professional Basketball Combine5/13/2019 BREAKING: Justin Simon (St. John’s) will participate in the 2019 Professional Basketball Combine. Simon spent one year at Arizona before transferring to St. John’s. In his three season college career, Simon averaged 8.9 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 3.1 APG. As a freshman at Arizona, he made 24 appearances and played 7.5 minutes per game. Simon then transferred to St. John’s where he sat out the 2016-17 season in compliance with NCAA transfer regulations. In his first season at St. John’s, Simon averaged 12.2 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and 5.1 APG. He led the team in rebounds per game, assists per game, and steals per game. That also put him second in assists and first in steals for his conference. As a redshirt junior, Simon averaged 10.4 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 3.2 APG. He was named Big East Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the third player in program history to win that honor. He also led the team in blocked shots and was second on the team in assists per game. We are excited to welcome Justin Simon to the 2019 PBC and look forward to seeing him compete!
BREAKING: Paul White (Oregon) will participate in the 2019 Professional Basketball Combine. White spent his freshman and sophomore year at Georgetown before transferring to Oregon. In his college career, White averaged 8.0 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 1.4 APG. As a freshman at Georgetown, White averaged 5.0 PPG, 2.8 RPG, and 1.2 APG. He played in all 33 games scored in double figures eight times. White missed all but seven games of his sophomore season in 2015-16 due to injury. He then transferred to Oregon and sat out the 2016-2017 season per NCAA transfer rule, but when he got back on the floor as a redshirt junior at Oregon, White averaged 9.4 PPG, 3.5 RPG, and 1.5 APG. He ranked tied for ninth in the Pac-12 with an 83.7% free-throw shooting percentage. As a redshirt senior, White averaged 10.6 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 1.4 APG. He played in all 38 games and started 36. BREAKING: Chris Silva (South Carolina) to Participate in 2019 Professional Basketball Combine5/11/2019 BREAKING: Chris Silva (South Carolina) will participate in the 2019 Professional Basketball Combine. In four seasons at South Carolina, Silva averaged 11.3 PPG and 6.5 RPG. As a freshman, Silva averaged 5.4 PPG and 4.5 RPG while seeing action in 32 games and starting six. As a sophomore, Silva averaged 10.2 PPG and 6.1 RPG. He started all 37 games during his breakout sophomore season and led the team in blocks with 1.4 per game. As a junior, Silva averaged 14.3 PPG, 8.0 RPG, and 1.2 APG. He was named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, All-SEC First Team, and SEC All-Defensive Team. He led the team in points per game, rebounds, field goal percentage (46.7%), blocks (1.4), free throws attempted (283) and free throws made (213). As a senior, Silva averaged 15.2 PPG and 7.6 RPG. He was once again named All-SEC First Team and SEC All-Defensive Team. He averaged team highs of 15.2 points (ninth in the SEC), 7.6 rebounds (fifth in the SEC) and 1.9 blocks (fourth in the SEC) in 26.8 minutes per game. BREAKING: Ronshad Shabazz (Appalachian State) to Participate in Professional Basketball Combine5/10/2019 BREAKING: Ronshad Shabazz (Appalachian State) will participate in the 2019 Professional Basketball Combine. In four seasons with Appalachian State, Shabazz averaged 16.4 PPG, 3.2 RPG, and 2.2 APG. As a freshman, Shabazz averaged 11.9 PPG, 3.6 RPG, and 1.5 APG. As a sophomore, Shabazz led the team in scoring and averaged 16.7 PPG, 3.5 RPG, and 1.7 APG. As a junior, Shabazz averaged 18.5 PPG, 2.5 RPG, and 3.0 APG and led the team in points, assists, and was second on the team in steals. He became the fifth player in program history to score 600 or more points in a season. Shabazz was named Second Team All-Sun Belt and NABC Second Team All-District. As a senior, Shabazz averaged 18.3 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 2.3 APG. He once again led the team in scoring and assist. Shabazz was named All-Sun Belt for the third straight season, earning Second Team honors. He ended his career as an Appalachian State great ranking second all-time with 2,067 points. He also owns the program record for field goals made in a career with 712, ranks third in 3-pointers made (269) and is tied for third in games played (126). BREAKING: Paul Scruggs (Xavier) will participate in the 2019 Professional Basketball Combine. In two seasons at Xavier, Scruggs averaged 8.7 PPG, 3.5 RPG, and 2.6 APG. As a freshman, Scruggs averaged 4.9 PPG, 2.0 RPG, and 1.7 APG. He got better as the season went on, with three of his five double-figure scoring games coming in the last five games of the season. As a sophomore, Scruggs showed lots of improvement from the previous year. He averaged 12.3 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 3.3 APG. He started each of Xavier's 35 games, the only Musketeer who started every game and finished second on the team in scoring. Scruggs was also named to the Big East Conference Championship All-Tournament Team after averaging 18.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists for Xavier’s two tournament games.
