Brandon Sampson (LSU) will attend the 2018 Professional Basketball Combine presented by HFactor. Sampson was named Mr. Basketball in the state of Louisiana as a senior in high school and was the 39th ranked recruit in the nation by ESPN. As a freshman at LSU, Sampson was a part of one of the best recruiting classes in the country with Ben Simmons, the future #1 overall pick in the NBA Draft, and Antonio Blakeney, who participated in the 2017 PBC and went on to lead the G-League in scoring this past season.
As a freshman, Sampson’s playtime was limited, and he averaged 4 points in 13 minutes per game. Sampson’s game flourished on five-game preseason Australian tour with LSU during his sophomore season. Sampson shot 46.2% from downtown and scored in double figures 3 of the 5 games. During his sophomore season his points per game rose to 11.6. He showed his scoring ability right out of the gates in his junior year, scoring 40 points over the first three games of the season. In November against Samford, Sampson set a career high in rebounds (8) and assists (7). His game vs Florida in February was also a stand out where Sampson had 17 points and shot over 50 percent from three. Sampson showed his scoring ability in the postseason as well, scoring 18 against Lafayette and 17 against Georgia in the NIT. We are excited to welcome Brandon to the 2018 PBC and look forward to seeing him compete in May!
