BREAKING: Boriša Simanić (KK Crvena zvezda) Selected as 2020 Professional Basketball Combine Honoree
BREAKING: Boriša Simanić (KK Crvena zvezda) has been selected as a 2020 Professional Basketball Combine honoree. The Ljubovija, Serbia native has been a part of the Red Star club system since 2013 (with brief loans to FMP Beograd) and has developed into a highly effective stretch forward prospect.
Simanić put his name on the NBA prospect map with stellar performances in the 2016 ANGT, garnering MVP honors in both Berlin and Belgrade. He also earned all-tournament recognition at the 2016 Albert Schweitzer Tournament. Simanić's strong performances is these youth tournaments earned him invites to the 2016 Basketball Without Borders and 2017 Nike Hoop Summit.
Following his 2016-17 rise to prospect prominence, Simanić's junior team days came to a halt and he began playing full-time in Liga ABA, Serbian KLS, and Euroleague. On nearly 400 3PA's during regular season play from 2016-17 to present, Simanić is converting at a 40+ 3P% clip, a remarkable conversion rate for a young 7-footer.
What makes Simanić such an intriguing prospect is that he's not simply a stand-still sharp-shooter with size. He has great mobility at his size, off-movement shooting versatility, capability to attack closeouts, touch around the rim, and defensive chops.
Simanić is one of only two 2020 NBA Draft consensus top 100 prospects to post a 40+ 3P% on a .500+ 3PAr while also finishing at a 60+% clip at the rim this past season.
We are excited to welcome Boriša Simanić to the PBC family and look forward to all of his future success in professional basketball!
