In four seasons at South Carolina, Silva averaged 11.3 PPG and 6.5 RPG. As a freshman, Silva averaged 5.4 PPG and 4.5 RPG while seeing action in 32 games and starting six. As a sophomore, Silva averaged 10.2 PPG and 6.1 RPG. He started all 37 games during his breakout sophomore season and led the team in blocks with 1.4 per game. As a junior, Silva averaged 14.3 PPG, 8.0 RPG, and 1.2 APG. He was named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, All-SEC First Team, and SEC All-Defensive Team. He led the team in points per game, rebounds, field goal percentage (46.7%), blocks (1.4), free throws attempted (283) and free throws made (213). As a senior, Silva averaged 15.2 PPG and 7.6 RPG. He was once again named All-SEC First Team and SEC All-Defensive Team. He averaged team highs of 15.2 points (ninth in the SEC), 7.6 rebounds (fifth in the SEC) and 1.9 blocks (fourth in the SEC) in 26.8 minutes per game.
