BREAKING: Xeyrius Williams (Akron) has been selected as a 2020 Professional Basketball Combine honoree. In three seasons at Dayton and one season at Akron, the Springfield, Ohio native accumulated 838 points, 547 rebounds, 103 assists, 64 steals, and 83 blocks.
Williams, a Third Team All-MAC selection, ranked 2nd in the conference in defensive win-shares and 3rd in the conference in rebounds per game. He was the only player in the country to average a double-dobule and shoot at least 90% from the free throw stripe. With 7+ 3PA's per game and a 90+ FT% this season, Williams boasts very encouraging statistical indicators of projectable shooting growth/improvement at 6'9".
In July 2020, Williams inked his first professional contract with BC Körmend of the Hungarian NBIA (first division Hungary) and FIBA Europe Cup. Williams has made an immediate impact with his new club, leading them to the Göcsej Cup preseason tournament title and notching 17 points in the championship game.
