BREAKING: Yam Madar (Hapoel Tel Aviv) Selected as 2020 Professional Basketball Combine Honoree10/6/2020 BREAKING: Yam Madar (Hapoel Tel Aviv) has been selected as a 2020 Professional Basketball Combine honoree. Madar, a Beit Dagan, Israel native and 2020 NBA Draft early entrant, has seen a continuously increasing role over his first two professional seasons in the Israeli Winner League, and has been a sharp-rising prospect ahead of the 2020 NBA Draft. Madar's rookie season with Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2018-19 was in a ~10 minute rotation role off the bench. In 2018, he was a solid contributor to the Israeli FIBA U18 club, showing flashes of potential and upside.
Madar's breakout to prospect prominence came during the summer of 2019 when he and Deni Avdija led Israel to a gold medal in the FIBA U20 Euro Championship A Championships. Madar was spectacular, averaging 15.9 PPG, 7.7 APG, 3.1 RPG, 1.4 SPG, and 0.7 BPG on 51.8/47.6/81.2% shooting splits over the course of the tournament. Madar parlayed his summer performance into a more prominent role with Hapoel Tel Aviv throughout the 2019-20 season, starting in more than half of his appearances, logging nearly 25 MPG, and averaging 10+ PPG. He showed more frequent flashes of burst, vision, creativity, handle, craft, feel, point-of-attack defense, and athleticism as the season progressed. Following the COVID-19 hiatus, Madar even further stepped up his game, notching three 20+ point performances over the final month of the season, one of the few prospects to have significantly boosted their stock during the elongated pre-draft process. We are excited to welcome Yam Madar to the PBC family and look forward to all of his future success in professional basketball!
